On 16 July 2025, Birla Balika Vidyapeeth hosted the vibrant Eco Fair “Eco Roots”, organised by the proactive Eco Club of Birla Balika Vidyapeeth. The event celebrated India’s rich indigenous knowledge while promoting sustainable practices through student-led innovation.
Inaugural Ceremony
The Eco Fair at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth was ceremoniously inaugurated by the respected Principal, Mrs. Achala Verma. The programme began with the invocation of Goddess Saraswati using herbal dhoop batti and natural roli, both handcrafted by students of Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, setting a serene and eco-conscious tone for the event.
Herbal Skin and Hair Care Products
Students of Birla Balika Vidyapeeth showcased a wide range of herbal skin and hair care products, including handmade soaps, nourishing hair oils, herbal lotions, and natural face packs. Prepared using chemical-free ingredients, these products reflected traditional wellness practices rooted in nature.
Natural Dyes and Eco-Friendly Holi Gulaal
A special section at the Eco Fair highlighted natural dyes and eco-friendly gulaal for Holi. This initiative by Birla Balika Vidyapeeth promoted safe, skin-friendly, and environmentally responsible festive celebrations.
Best Out of Waste Innovations
The Best out of Waste exhibit at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth transformed discarded materials into functional and aesthetic items. These creations demonstrated how waste can be creatively reused, reinforcing the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Water Filtration Model Using Corn Cobs
A science-based highlight of the Eco Fair at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth was a water filtration model based on the adsorptive capacity of corn cobs. The model showcased an affordable and sustainable solution for water purification using natural materials.
Green Innovations and Sustainable Solutions
Students of Birla Balika Vidyapeeth presented innovative projects such as bioplastics, plantable seed-infused recycled paper, eco-friendly insect repellents, and liquid organic fertilizers. These exhibits reflected the integration of modern science with traditional ecological knowledge.
Eco-Friendly Devotional Products
Devotion met sustainability at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth with incense sticks made from recycled temple flowers, along with fragrant rose water and rose syrup. These products symbolised purity, reverence, and environmental responsibility.
