For me, Mathematics has always been about logic, patterns, and the thrill of solving problems. This feeling truly came alive when I participated in the Birla Balika VIdyapeeth, Pilani Inter-House Maths Panel Quiz held on 22nd December 2025, on the occasion of National Mathematics Day.
I had the opportunity to represent Parijat House along with my teammates, Preksha Jain and Aayushi Jain. What made this journey special wasnโt just the competition day, but all the preparation that went into it. We spent several days practicing together, dividing topics like Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Number systems, and logical reasoning among ourselves. Each of us took responsibility for certain areas, and then we taught and tested each other. This not only strengthened our concepts but also built our confidence as a team.
In BBV campus, our practice sessions were a mix of learning and fun. We solved sample questions, challenged each other with tricky problems, and even timed ourselves to improve our speed. One of the most exciting parts was practicing buzzer roundsโit required quick thinking, coordination, and trust in each otherโs instincts.
When the day of the quiz finally arrived, there was a mix of excitement and nervousness. The competition had multiple rounds, each testing different skills. Some rounds required quick recall of formulas and definitions, while others involved solving application-based problems or tackling logical reasoning questions. There were moments when we had to rely on mental calculations under time pressure, and others where careful thinking made all the difference.
Throughout the quiz, we stayed calm and worked as a team. Before answering, we quickly discussed our thoughts and made sure we were confident in our responses. This teamwork played a huge role in helping us perform consistently in every round.
In the end, all our hard work paid offโParijat House secured the first position! It was a proud and memorable moment for all of us.
Looking back, this experience was not just about winning. It helped me improve my problem-solving skills, think faster under pressure, and understand the importance of teamwork. Most importantly, it made learning Mathematics even more enjoyable.
Participating in this quiz was truly a rewarding experience, and one that I will always remember.
