
Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani, commemorated Earth Day on 22nd April 2026 with great enthusiasm and environmental consciousness on the theme โOur Power, Our Planet.โ The Social Science Department organized a thoughtfully curated special assembly aimed at sensitizing students towards environmental sustainability and the urgent need to conserve our natural resources.

The programme commenced with a serene prayer, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, Mrs. Achala Verma, Dean Academics, Mrs. Anju Dogra, Academic Coordinators, and members of the Social Science Department. As a symbolic gesture of love and commitment towards nature, Dr. Sandhya Vyas presented potted plants to the Principal and Dean Academics.

The assembly featured an engaging and informative skit, creatively portraying a model of the Earth and emphasizing the significance of the 3 Rs โ Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Students actively participated by showcasing vibrant posters, impactful slogans, and an eye-catching large display highlighting the importance of protecting our planet.

A thought-provoking poem on nature and climate change was eloquently recited by a student, followed by a visually appealing and informative PowerPoint presentation that set the tone for the assembly. The programme concluded with an inspiring video and a collective pledge, wherein the entire school community resolved to adopt sustainable practices and protect the environment.

In her address, the Principal encouraged students to uphold the spirit of Earth Day in their daily lives, emphasizing that โevery day should be celebrated as Earth Day,โ and urged each individual to take responsibility in safeguarding the planet. The celebration was a meaningful initiative that not only raised awareness but also instilled a sense of environmental stewardship among students, reinforcing the schoolโs commitment to sustainable living.
