Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani, celebrated National Space Day 2026 on 22 August with great enthusiasm on the theme “Celebrating India’s Space Journey—Dharti Se Antariksh Tak : Innovating for a Sustainable Future.” Maj. Gen. S. S. Nair, AVSM, Director, Birla Education Trust, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The programme commenced with the welcome address and ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the release of the books Antariksh and Ecopreneur . A lively space panel quiz, a presentation on India’s space missions and the ISDC workshop report enriched students’ understanding of space science. The skit “Aao Tumhe Chand Pe Le Jaayein” creatively portrayed humanity’s fascination with space. The Chief Guest encouraged students to cultivate scientific curiosity, innovation and environmental responsibility.
Rocket launching and tree plantation activities added further excitement. The event successfully blended scientific exploration, creativity, sustainability and ecopreneurship, inspiring students to become responsible innovators of tomorrow.
