True to its rich legacy of nurturing enlightened young women, Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani—one of the best residential schools for girls—hosted a vibrant Read-a-thon on 10th September 2025 for students of Classes VIII and IX. The campus buzzed with ideas as students presented insightful, confident reviews of their favourite books.
With analytically crafted presentations and smart use of modern tools, students blended reading with personality grooming. The literary celebration was beautifully complemented by an elegant dance performance and a soulful rendition, reminding everyone that stories are not only read but experienced. One wanders to a world that one seeks so as to return with renewed experiences and expertise making one wiser.
The event was graced by our respected Principal, Mrs. Achala Verma, who applauded the participants and expressed her delight at witnessing the well-prepared presentations. She also appreciated the sincere efforts of the students and the teacher incharge, Dr. Dolly Seehra, in fostering a strong culture of reading—an enduring hallmark of Birla Balika Vidyapeeth’s educational ethos.
The Read-a-thon is not merely an event; it stands as a reaffirmation of the school’s legacy of shaping confident readers, thoughtful thinkers, and future leaders. As Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam rightly said, “Reading is the gateway skill that makes all other learning possible.” The Read-a-thon encapsulated this spirit perfectly.
