Soaring to the Stars: National Space Day Celebrations at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani with Rocket Launch as the Showstopper

On 23rd August 2025, Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani celebrated National Space Day 2025 on the theme “From Aryabhata to Gaganyaan: Ancient Knowledge to Infinite Possibilities.”

The program began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, Mrs. Achala Verma, accompanied by the faculty members of the Science Department, setting a dignified tone for the occasion. A special highlight of the event was the release of “Starbound,” a space-themed book thoughtfully created by the students, reflecting their curiosity and passion for astronomy.

Adding a creative dimension to the celebration, the students presented an engaging play titled “Aao Tumhe Chand Pe Le Jayein” (Let’s Take You to the Moon), directed by TGT Science, Mrs. Chavi Ghildiyal, which captivated the audience with its imaginative portrayal and lively performance.

The event continued with an exciting inter-house panel quiz competition conducted by the quiz masters, Ms. Itika and Ms. Serena Soni (Alumna 2024). The participants showcased remarkable enthusiasm and depth of knowledge in Space Science and Astronomy, leaving the audience thoroughly impressed.

The Principal, Mrs. Achala Verma, extended heartfelt congratulations to the HoDs Mrs. Anita Mishra, HoD Sciences, Mrs. Kanchan saini, HoD Physics & the entire Science Department for the successful organization of the event. She remarked that India’s space program is a source of pride and inspiration. Such events, she added, encourage curiosity and creativity among students and inspire them to set new benchmarks in the fields of science and technology.

The celebration culminated in a spectacular student-led rocket launching demonstration that emerged as the showstopper of the event, filling the atmosphere with excitement, joy, and a renewed sense of hope and aspiration among the students.
